The Role

As Lead of Finance & Compliance, you’ll build the financial operating layer at kAIgentic from scratch: the controls, close calendar, and audit posture that let an enterprise AI company scale across India, Singapore, and Japan. You’ll own finance, compliance, and governance for the India entity, and you’ll partner with leadership on the cross-border setup connecting our Singapore and Japan presence. This is a founder-adjacent role with broad ownership and external visibility.

What You’ll Do

• Own finance operations, accounting, reconciliations, and monthly closes for the India entity, in line with applicable accounting standards and group reporting requirements.
• Run GST, TDS, statutory filings, payroll, and tax compliance end-to-end; manage auditors, tax consultants, payroll providers, and bankers as a single accountable owner across India and Singapore.
• Coordinate transfer pricing documentation and operational workflows between India and Singapore, working alongside external advisors.
• Build the financial control plane and internal controls: approval workflows, expense policies, vendor and procurement SOPs, accounting systems and tooling, and the safeguards that protect company assets and mitigate financial risk.
• Run cash flow operations, AR/AP discipline, banking, and treasury workflows; deliver timely, clean financial data that supports leadership decisions and group reporting.
• Lead enterprise customer audit, security, and compliance responses, which are now a core part of the enterprise deal cycle.

What You’ll Bring

• You’re a CA with 6 to 10 years across finance, compliance, controllership, or finance operations.
• You’ve scaled finance operations inside a SaaS company or a startup, ideally one that grew meaningfully through revenue or headcount inflection while you were there.
• You bring strong command of GAAP or IFRS and financial reporting, and you’re hands-on with accounting platforms like Tally, NetSuite, or similar.
• You’ve operated inside cross-border structures and understand how Indian compliance interacts with Singapore, Japan, or other parent and subsidiary setups.
• You’re hands-on by default. You build the systems you need without waiting for someone else to build them for you.
• You hold a high bar on documentation, audit trails, and process rigor; it’s how great companies run. You can independently manage audits, customer compliance reviews, and external partners with calm and follow-through.
