The Role

As Principal Engineer on the AI Infrastructure team, you will be the defining technical voice for how kAIgentic's agentic orchestration platform evolves over the next five years. This is an organization-wide role: you will set foundational architecture decisions and deliver on them—not hand off a vision but see it through to production. You will shape how every engineering team thinks about durable execution and stateful AI, and act as kAIgentic's primary technical authority in conversations with regulators, banking partners, and the broader agentic AI ecosystem. You operate at the intersection of distributed systems depth, agentic AI systems innovation, and enterprise compliance—a combination that is genuinely rare in the market.

 

What You'll Do

• Define the multi-year technical roadmap for kAIgentic's durable orchestration platform, making architectural bets that shape product and engineering investment
• Set org-wide engineering standards for how stateful, long-running agentic workflows are designed, tested, and operated across all product teams
• Own the hardest unsolved problems in the platform: clock-skew-resistant workflow semantics, deterministic replay under model non-determinism, and sub-millisecond interrupt latency for human-in-the-loop scenarios
• Establish kAIgentic's external technical identity in the agentic AI ecosystem through publications, conference talks, and open-source contributions
• Serve as the final technical escalation for architectural disputes across AI Infrastructure, DevOps/MLOps, and AI Research
• Lead technical due diligence for strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and banking customer onboarding
• Mentor Staff and Lead Engineers across the organization on distributed systems and agentic architecture
• Optionally lead a small embedded technical crew (2–4 engineers) executing against your highest-priority platform programs, providing technical direction while the engineering manager retains people management ownership

 

What You'll Bring

• 15+ years in backend, platform, or infrastructure engineering with at least 5 years focused on distributed systems at scale
• Recognized technical authority in distributed systems, durable execution, or agentic AI—demonstrated through publications, patents, open-source leadership, or equivalent industry impact
• AI-native velocity as a default mode of working (mandatory)
• Expert-level mastery of Go and Python with deep knowledge of their runtime semantics, concurrency models, and production behavior under load
• Deep expertise in 5+ of the following:
  • Durable execution engine internals (Temporal, Cadence, or equivalent) including scheduler design, replay semantics, and clock handling
  • Multi-agent orchestration at scale including state partitioning, context propagation, and coordination protocols
  • Distributed consensus and state machine replication
  • Compliance-driven systems for banking or similarly regulated industries (MAS, FCA, FSA, OCC)
  • Observability platform architecture at multi-tenant scale
  • Control plane design for high-concurrency, low-latency enterprise platforms
  • Long-running workflow systems with guaranteed execution and audit integrity
  • Cross-language service architecture (gRPC, Protobuf, service mesh)
  • Proven track record of platform architecture decisions that held at 10x-100x scale

• Experience representing technical architecture to regulators, banking CISOs, and C-level stakeholders
• Exceptional ability to communicate deeply technical concepts across engineering, product, and executive audiences
